Sanibona Communications (Pty) Ltd was formed by Simo Lushaba in 2005 and is majority owned by Simosezwe Investments (Pty) Ltd. Sanibona is a Zulu phrase for greeting: it means “we see you”.

The object of forming the company was to access opportunities in the Information Communications and Technology (ICT) sector. The ICT sector is undergoing changes that are influence by:

• Development in technology
  
• South Africa’s objective to reduce costs of communication and provide access to poor communities
  
• Reduce costs of doing business from SA and
  
• Change of legislation

Sanibona Communications secured a unique opportunity to participate in the provision of contracts to customers as a strategic BEE partner of GVSC, holding a 51 % stake in GVSC. GVSC is therefore an empowered company.

Its role in this respect is to secure funding that is necessary to provide this product to the market and mange relationship with financiers. It plays a leading role in management of the product in terms of its development, positioning in the market, maintenance and reviews that by be necessary in future. Further, this partnership strategically positions GVSC to capture the Government, State Owned Enterprises and corporate market of South Africa.
